This project is inspired by:

Joanie's Wish

The 2026 Golden Beauty Pageant is developed in memory of York County resident Joan Fricke, a beloved friend of YCEATF President Officer Candice Simeoni.
The two met while Candice was delivering Meals on Wheels in 2020.

Ms. Fricke and Candice shared countless conversations together each week and one of the most profound conversations involved wishes. One wish they talked about was a beauty pageant for older women. Ms. Fricke would always giggle and reply that she would be the first contestant. This eventually become a promise and a goal of Candice’s.
Sadly, Ms. Fricke passed away in 2022.

However, a promise is a promise.

So, this is for you Joanie, Contestant #1!

Because beauty doesn’t fade. It evolves.

shining a spotlight on women 60+ who radiate wisdom, strength, style, and timeless beauty.

“The Golden Beauty Pageant celebrates the timeless elegance, resilience, and spirit of women aged 60 and above. Our mission is to honor the beauty that grows with age—beauty shaped by experience, compassion, and wisdom. We empower older women to embrace their stories, uplift one another, and shine brightly as role models to their families and in their communities.”

Step into the spotlight at the Golden Beauty Pageant, where women aged 60+ radiate grace, wisdom, and confidence. This one-of-a-kind celebration honors the journeys and enduring beauty of older women who continue to inspire us all.

From special moments to shine to heartfelt stories, this event is more than a pageant—

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at csimeoni@kennebunkmaine.us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! There are no height or weight requirements. We are looking for women with wisdom, grace and personality, who are beautiful on the inside and out.

We understand this but your story is so important to us. So....we have a mobile recording studio and will be prerecording your monologue to play as you walk the stage in your evening wear! Don't worry, it will be less than a minute long and we can edit it as many times as you need.
Also, our Emcee Nicci will be reading some answers to questions you provide while you strut your stuff during your fashion walk!

We hope for two workshops, a rehearsal and pageant. Contestants are required to attend.

Your talent is being who you are!  There is no other talent required. You will walk the stage in a fashion outfit of your choice and also will grace the stage in an evening/formal wear of your choice. You will have an interview about a month prior to the pageant at one of the contestant workshops.

Thank you for asking!
